Homecoming Keynote Presentation & John P. Imlay, Jr. Distinguished Lecture: Georgia Tech and the New World of Higher Education

Public and private universities in the US are in trouble, and Rich DeMillo (PhD ICS 72), who has spent years in both academia and industry, offers a roadmap for the twenty-first century. Based on his popular book “Abelard to Apple: The Fate of American Colleges and Universities,” he describes the evolving model for higher education, including Apple’s iTunesU, MIT’s OpenCourseware, and Georgia Tech’s role in defining the technological university of the 21st century.
