Special Lecture by Korean Artist and Satirist Song Byeok

Song Byeok is a former North Korean propaganda artist and now is a contemporary artist satirizing oppressive regimes worldwide. Song Byeok will speak about his past life as a state-sponsored painter in North Korea and his journey to artistic freedom. Introduction will be given by Dr. John L. Tone, Professor, associate dean of Undergraduate Studies.

Song Byeok’s role has been profiled in major news media, including The Washington Post, Newsweek Japan,and France's Liberation, among others.
